The Garden Route Company started out with two people and one client. For the first few years, Rich Radford and Sandy Ayers did everything with their own two hands. Today their company is a collaborative, award-winning design and build firm that draws on local and international talent to create exquisitely crafted landscapes. But one thing hasn’t changed; Rich and Sandy still oversee each job and leave their personal stamp of quality on every project.

The Garden Route develops gardens that strike a harmonious balance between nature and people. Dry-stacked stone walls and stone-on-sand patios recall old world craftsmanship and skill. Arbors and decks are created from sustainable materials. Planting schemes showcase native flora in natural settings. Low-impact irrigation and drainage systems keep the landscape thriving. Natural seating and outdoor lighting make the space functional as well as beautiful. Each design takes advantage of the unique character of the site while expressing the personal taste of the owner. The result is as unique as you are.

The company is a member of the California Landscape Contractors Association, American Society of Landscape Architects, the Green Landscaping Institute and the Green Roofs for Healthy Cities Program.
