Owners Henry Matoza and Penelope Smith

Matoza Construction opened for business in 1984 under the leadership of Henry Matoza, Jr. In 1998, Penelope Smith joined the Matoza crew, bringing with her 12 years of entrepreneurial experience, having owned and operated several of her own businesses. Matoza Construction specializes in building custom homes from the ground up. If all your home needs is a little tweaking, they’re also expert at remodeling and additions. No request is too large or too small—they can redo one bathroom or revamp your entire house with equal aplomb.

Matoza Construction team members are crosstrained in all aspects of construction—they’re ‘jacks of all trades’, so to speak—so there’s no need for subcontractors. This makes them highly efficient and able to maintain quality. It’s also more cost-effective for the customer. Mr. Matoza makes sure that customers and crew understand each other. Every detail of each job is carefully itemized so the homeowner knows exactly what he or she is paying for. This is something that all companies should—but don’t—take the time to do. It’s standard practice for Matoza Construction though, and just one of many
ways they go the extra mile.
